Can working on the computer before bed effect my sleep?

This, coupled with the increased stimulation involved with watching movies, listening to music, reading news, etc. Is simply not conducive towards initiating the sleep process. ...Read more

Can sleeping with your iPhone facing you two inches away from head interfere with sleep quality? I fell asleep the same time but woke up much early.

Unlikely: Unless the iPhone was making sounds (text alerts, etc.) or putting out excessive heat, it's hard to imagine how the mere presence of the phone would interfere with your sleep. I suspect that something else (stress, environmental noise, late-night pizza, etc.) is to blame. ...Read more

I have problems sleeping at night tossing and turning i have no problem falling asleep I've tried sleeping pills like melatonin but it doesn't keep me asleep I wake up many times during the night.

Lets find the cause: You may need medical help to find the cause of your insomnia. You are under some stress or anxiety which is keeping you from falling sleep. You will need a better sleeping pill but it means visiting a doctor. Melatonin is not a good sleeping pill by itself. For now try to exercise daily and relax. Yoga and Meditation is another means of providing relaxation. Go see a MD or Yoga teacher. ...Read more

Learned behavior: Sleep is a somewhat learned behavior and kids learn by association. If all your child knows is the same routine at night, to get up and go to your room, that is what she will do. Change the bedtime routine, and explain in clear terms what you want her to do, and stick to to your request. It may take you escorting her back to bed every night for a couple of weeks but in the end she will learn. ...Read more

Will a later bed time or cutting an afternoon nap help my baby sleep through the night?

Will a later bed time or cutting an afternoon nap help my baby sleep through the night?

Yes: We all need a certain amount of sleep per day. Even as adults, we know that a nap will make us go to bed later in the day. In a perfect world, we should have a good night's rest every night. The only way to answer your question is for you to try taking out the afternoon nap, and see if your baby will sleep at an earlier bed time and longer at night. If it doesn't help, let him/her nap. ...Read more

Insomnia: There are tons of different sleep aids available, but at this point your insomnia is also caused by the fear/anxiety of not being able to fall asleep. I've had good success with short as needed use of Lorazepam in select patients. It works like a champ for them up to a week and then they are able to sleep on their own.
