I am of a low weight, and feeling very low in spirit and energy but all blood tests are normal except for a low vitamin D. I exercise regularly, ?
I think you are wise: to consider there may be something more going on here beyond vitamin D deficiency. Yes, "feeling low in spirit" can result from vitamin D deficiency, but I am worried about depression. Underweight can also be a symptom. Consider this and seek evaluation even if you don't feel "sad." Many have depression without recognizing depressed mood. Treatment is effective. Don't be embarrassed; it's common. ...Read more
I have been diagnosed with severe vitamin d deficiency. I am really tired and don't feel i can't go back to work, how do I get my energy back?
Vitamin D: If you were diagnosed with "severe" vitamin d deficiency, your 25ohd level would usually be <20 ng/ml. For this, your doctor can treat you with 50, 000 iu d3 orally once per week for 6-8 weeks. This could be followed by taking 1000-2000 iu per day, with a re-test @ 3-4 months to see where you are. If the reason for vit d deficiency is poor absorption, your needs may differ. Ask your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

And your question?: I'm not sure what you are asking. Yes, vit d deficiency can cause fatigue. It is easy to correct with 5-8000 iu of d3/day. B12 deficiency can be serious too- try 1000 mcg of sublingual b12/day ; if that does not help try injections. See http://bit.Ly/1fnt3ox ; http://bit.Ly/1607tg3 if fatigue persists after correcting then see a good doc to explore the many other possible causes of fatigue. ...Read more
I would like to take a multivitamin. Can I also take extra vitamin d and B12 1000mcg with the multivitamin? I dont have much energy is the reason for the extra supplements.
Can i take citracal calcium plus vitamin d slow realease at the same time as centrum energy multivitamin/multimineral?
Yes you may: Yes you may. Calcium absorption tends to plateau when a single dose exceeds 500-600 mg. Even though the two together would exceed this number, you may be fine because one is slow release. Taking the 2 separately always makes absorption more efficient, but if you never remember taking a 2nd dose, taking both together would still wind up getting you more calcium absorbed than 1 supplement. ...Read more
