Male yeast infection help! I'm a male and I've had a yeast infection for two years. Nothing seems to get rid of it. I've taken frequent trips to the doctor and he keeps prescribing chlotrimazole cream which is not working. I've tried coconut oil

Recurrent: Recurrent yeast infections can be a sign of diabetes or immune deficiencies. You should have a complete history and physical to make sure this is not the issue. On the other hand, is it possible that a sexual partner could have an untreated yeast infection which is causing the reoccurence. Your doctor may need to put you on an oral medication called Diflucan (fluconazole) once a week for about 4 weeks or so. Lastly consider it is not a yeast infection and possibly an allergic reaction to some type of soap, lotion, or cream you are using on your penis.
Best of luck. ...Read more

I think I have yeast infection. I don't know what to do. My choices are going to the doctor or buying some cream. What should I do? My vagina itches and it's begining to swell up. I had it for about 3 days.

If: If a patient has a yeast infection, then it usually has white or cheesy discharge, the vagina appears to have white dots/spots on it, and it is very itchy. There are over the counter treatments available for treatment; either suppositories or cream can safely treat a yeast infection. To prevent yeast infections, use cotton underwear only (not nylon), avoid hot baths, and decrease sugary drinks/snacks in the diet. ...Read more

Well im 37 weeks, what do I do I had a yeast infection lastweek they gave me the 7 day cream and now these past days I been haven a lot of discharge?

Leaking fluid?: Congratulations on your pregnancy. While this might just be related to a poorly treated yeast infection, given how far along you are in pregnancy, you need to consider the possibility of leaking of amniotic fluid.

If you are not ruptured, then this could just be related to a change in your cervix and an increased discharge that is normal.

Call your ob/gyn and good luck! ...Read more

Just finished 14days treatment of vaginal yeast infection but no change. Can I try another vaginal cream again now or I should wait more days?

Not yeast?: If you used one of the usual treatments, active ingredient ending in "azole" (miconazole, clotrimazole, etc), then repeating treatment with a similar drug probably won't help. Some yeast strains are resistant and require an different treatment, e.g. nystatin or flucytosine. Or maybe it's something other than yeast. Don't self-diagnose; contact your doctor for evaluation and advice. ...Read more
