Can U Put Peroxide In Your Ear
How long can it take to clear blockage in my sons ear? Our doctor said to put peroxide in his ear at night and perscription drops in the morning.
I suggest: that your problem may be water and WAX (often its the wax which "sticks" to the water making it difficult to relieve the pressure. Suggest an OTC wax remover (example only not recommendation) such as MURINE EAR SYSTEM. Ask your phrmacist and also purchase a large ear syringe (I find the small ones provided with the ear wax remover are too small to be effective) Hope this helps! DrZ ...Read more
I went to icings to pierce my ears & i think i'm allergic to something that's in the ear care solution, can I use hydrogen peroxide instead?
Friend thought had ear infection. Mixed water and neosporin. Put dropper deep in ear as far can go. Filled quarter way and put all in the ear. What happens if neosporin got deep in ear or past eardrum?
Perforation worry: Sticking anything in the ear is a no-no. I'd be worried about perforation of the eardrum. Get to a physician for further evaluation. If eardrum not perforated, the neosporin and water likely not going to cause a problem. If a middle ear infection, likely not going to help either. Might for otitis externa (of the canal). Get an exam by a doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I used peroxide to clean my ear this morning can the liquid get caught in the middle ear or Eustachian Tube?
Not usually: If it was applied to the outside part of the ear, then usually no. There is an ear drum that separates the outer ear from the middle ear and the eustachian tube. If there is perforation of the eardrum then potentially the answer is yes. ...Read more
Ear tubes and swimming? My son loves swimming but he just got ear tubes put in. The doctor said we need to use ear plugs to keep water out of the tubes, but we can’t find any ear plugs that stay in. Any ideas?
Is pouring hydrogen peroxide in your ears ok to do? I've tried and heard it helps dry out wax and helps with ear infections
Wax in ears: Hydrogen peroxide can help loosen wax in the outer ear so it can drain out on its own. Never use q-tips in your ears as they push wax back in. There are little hairs that brush the wax out as long as it is soft and loose- so the peroxide helps with that. It won't prevent middle ear infection- those are behind the ear drum. ...Read more

Peroxide: Peroxide should not be used in the mouth unless it is in gel form or diluted with water. Using peroxide will not eliminate tooth and gum pain if the pain is from decay, tooth abcess, or periodontal (gum) disease. See your dentist for an examination, diagnosis and treatment. Peroxide for earwax: Peroxide progressively breaks down earwax with repeated use. I recommend that my patients use 5 drops in their affected ear 2-3 times a day for 7 days when their ear is filled with wax. It is not unusual for ear to feel clogged and for hearing to be muffled until the wax resolves. You can see your local otolaryngologist for a thorough ear cleaning. ...Read more
