This points out how hard it is to be sure what goes on during pregnancy. The best you can do is keep healthy and avoid risks when you can. ...Read more
My infant won't make a bowl movement unless I stick a thermometer in her rectum and move it around. Is this normal? How do I get her to go on her own?
Bowel Movements: She will go on her own when she is ready to go. The biggest mistake we as parents make is thinking our babies have to go everyday. If you keep stimulating her with the thermometer, she will get to the point she will only go when she has that stimulus. So stop doing that. Some babies go multiple times a day, some go everyday, some go once a week. Adults do that too. Be patient. ...Read more

?your kidding right?: The physique of a healthy baby is a bit different from a healthy toddler /kid/adult.They have lax muscles that allow a full saggy belly & seem a bit pudgy with soft rolls. That said, there are also fat babies & they are not healthy. You grow new fat cells in infancy/puberty and pregnancy & an overfed fat baby is likely to face a lifetime of avoidable health problems. Breastfed babies have better immune function (less infections), less chance of dying in their first year, lower risk of allergies, Type 1 diabetes and obesity and better cognitive development.
