My wife had vomiting and diarrhea, but I only have nausea and seem to be constipated. Could this be a symptom of being dehydrated?
Dehydration: Yes, constipation is a sign of dehydration. Even if you are not vomiting, you are probably eating less due to nausea, and that can cause mild dehydration. You can survive without food much longer than you can survive without water, so it is very important to drink first, before you eat anything. Intolerance of fluids and food can rapidly cause severe dehydration, so monitor intake carefully. ...Read more

Can constipation cause infection Been constipated 3 weeks did bowel prep for colonoscopy and nothing helped now i have sore throat and cant get warm?
See Doctor!: 3 weeks is too long and you are auto-intoxicating your body with bacteria that will get into your bloodstream from the colon & hardening your stool. You may need to be evacuated either manually, or with stool softeners.3 weeks of food not passing & symptoms suggest, your immune system is affected. If you don't have a fever, you're probably not infected, this isn't normal. Seek immediate relief. ...Read more

I have chronic constipation problems and i took imodium (loperamide) due to diarrhea last two days, could there be a problem? Should i not continue imodium (loperamide)?
Dietary intake: It is unclear why you are having diarrhea on top of 'chronic constipation'. Imodium (loperamide) should be fine. For the constipation suggest that you increase the fiber in your diet or take one of the many otc preps to increase the bulk of your stool. You might try eating a cup of unpasteurized yogurt twice a day and by so doing alter your bowel bacteria and the character of your stools. Good luck. ...Read more
