Can two faithful people start up an std? It has to start somewhere right?

STI: Sexually transmitted illnesses require intimate contact to be transmitted. That said, particularly in males, these infections can be completely without symptoms for long periods of time- long enough for 1 relationship to end & another begin. Regular screening, especially when starting a new relationship, is always a good idea. ...Read more

Std (Definition)

This is a disease which can be transmitted from one person to another person through sexually related activities. This does not limit these activities to heterosexual intercourse, but encompasses all modalities of human-to-human sexual activity. It does not include illnesses that may make an individual more susceptible to a condition because of a sexual ...Read more

My baby girl is 10 months and she start to go to the nursery as I had to back to work, is it early or it is fine?

It's ok!: Many parents have apprehensions about sending their children to daycare, and many start as early as 6 weeks of age. There are many benefits to daycare, such as socialization skills and early learning, and it allows parents the opportunity to explore their career. Expect frequent colds and other minor injuries, as this is part of the daycare experience. ...Read more

If you have chancroid could Valtrex (valacyclovir) make it clear up for a little while then come back? My HSV results aren't back yet & symptoms similar to this.

Different agents: Valtrex (valacyclovir) would not affect the causative agent of chancroid. Chancroid and herpes may have similar symptoms but the former is a bacterial infection and the latter a viral one. Chancroid can be cured, herpes can only be controlled. ...Read more

If someone is infected a month ago with hiv, would it show up on the test and symptoms start showing?

It depends: Acute HIV infection may present within weeks and feel like a common viral infection and usuallly resolves within a few days. The disease can be diagnosed within 2 weeks by a quantitative pcr test, which measures the viral load directly. Other symptoms may occur at various times. If you suspect you have been infected, see a physician who treats HIV asap or go to a sti clinic. ...Read more

You didn't finish: But sounds like the answer is no. Second-hand marijuana smoke will virtually never cause a positive urine test (unless it is in a closed car with 5 people smoking and you inhaling deeply). In addition, unless they are doing hair follicle testing, nothing from that many months ago would be detectable in a urine or saliva test, and might not even be in most hair samples, depending on length. ...Read more

So if i take 2 birth control pills from my friends to stop it within the next 48 hours it wouldn't work? I heard that usually works with some people .

So if i take 2 birth control pills from my friends to stop it within the next 48 hours it wouldn't work? I heard that usually works with some people .

Bad plan: If you are trying to stop a period, start a period, make it a "morning after pill, " or somehow manage anything that could either be birth control or pregnancy control; taking your friend's pills will accomplish nothing. The best thing to accomplish what you wish is to commit to a prescription of your own and take them on a one-pill-daily-basis. ...Read more

Is it dangerous to suddenly stop taking singulair (montelukast)? I will run out in 6 weeks, and it doesn't look like i'll be able to get an appointment in time.

Is it dangerous to suddenly stop taking singulair (montelukast)? I will run out in 6 weeks, and it doesn't look like i'll be able to get an appointment in time.

There's no warning: There is no warning of danger in abruptly stopping singulair (montelukast) - so don't be afraid. But, if you are really pleased with its' performance and really want to continue, i'd hope the physician's office could call-in a short extension without an appointment. If the pharmacist is familiar with you & the physician, they might provide enough to span until your appointment. It's worth inquiring, right? ...Read more

It should work,: ...but it is likely to mess up your periods. Breakthrough bleeding & spotting are common when you use the Pill this way, especially in the first few cycles. Your periods will return to normal when you return to your usual pill schedule. If you want to have fewer periods, consider an extended cycle contraceptive that has 84 active pills followed by 7 placebo pills. ...Read more

If a person has a severe intolerance to egg, will it ever go away? It started with my daughter at around age 15 years.

If a person has a severe intolerance to egg, will it ever go away? It started with my daughter at around age 15 years.

Depends/maybe never: You say "severe" which I'll assume has been verified with testing to show high IGE to egg protein. There are some with normal IGE levels that break out or have other symptoms but the high IGE group is more likely to have it for a lifetime. Some foods like egg, nuts, fish tend to be lifelong problems while other foods seem to be tolerated more over time. Please verify the issue with your doc. ...Read more
