Calcium can: Cause constipation. Citrate is generally less of a problem than carbonate. Don't take it all with one meal, split the dose with several meals and make sure you get in sufficient fiber and water. Check w/your doctor for further info. Vitamin d dose is probably too low as most need 2000 units of d3/day. Won't cause constipation. If your osteoporosis is severe you probably need other rx as well. ...Read more

Citrate less than carbonate. Taking magnesium with calcium doesn't increase absorption, but is a laxative and can counteract ca induced constipation.
