Can The Doctors Office Pregnancy Test Give A False Negative
Bloated for almost four months now. Took a pregnancy test at the doctors office, came back negative. Should I be concern?
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I am curious to know why I had a positive home pregnancy test but at the doctors office it was negative?
Two weeks late, and two home pregnancy test say negative and then a doctors office says negative, so what does this mean?
Took a pregnancy test the week my period was due at the doctors office and it tested negative, but my period has yet to arrive?
Repeat test: Typically, urine pregnancy tests are positive around the time a woman expects to come on her menstrual period. However, if conception was later than anticipated, the menstrual period may be delayed and the pregnancy test may turn positive a little later. Repeating the test a week from the previous one may be a good idea. ...Read more
Is a blood pregnancy test accurate 18 days after sex? I got one at my doctors office last week and it was neg. Could I still be pregnant?
Yes: Yes it should be accurate. I have seen a few women who are pregnant and the test is negative for a while. If you are still doubting the results then retest and you should feel nausea, breast tenderness, fatigue in most early pregnancies. ...Read more
Is a first response early result pregnancy test more accurate then a dr. S office urine test? My home pregnancy test was pos but doc office was neg!
Not likely.: No test is 100% accurate, unfortunately. I'd suggest waiting a week, repeating the home test, and if it's still positive, going back to your doctor's. If the doctor's office urine test is still negative, your doctor can order a blood test for pregnancy, which is more accurate. ...Read more
I had a pregnancy test at my doctor's office last week and it came back negative. I'm seeing signs though. What should I do? I'm scared!
Did you have unprotected Sex? Did you miss a period? If the answer to either is no, testing for pregnancy would be premature. If the answer to both is yes, and you are more than 7 days past the date of the period, do a home pregnancy test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
Practice safe sex.

Timing and technique: Was first morning urine used either time? Did you follow the instructions carefully, including the time within which the test should be read after adding urine? Pregnancy: If you have regular menstrual cycles, a pregnancy test will be positive soon after your missed period (1-3 days). Some tests may detect things earlier. Pretty quick...: ....probably as soon as you notice a missed period, but if you want to do a stealth attack on that poor little thing growing in there, then, depending on the test, about 10 days. Why? You taking bets? BTW, a commercial, over-the-counter urine test is pretty good. And just think, instead of waiting at the doctor's office you can wait in line at Rite-Aid! ...Read more

Will a urine pregnancy test done at the doctor's office be accurate 19 days after suspected implantationn bleeding ended?
Trust the test: Urine pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

If you do get pregnant while on mirena (levonorgestrel) will you get a false negative at home pregnancy test?
Missed 3 periods, negatives pregnancy test. Hyperthyroidism not currently on medications. Can hyperthyroidism cause a false negative, or stop ovulation?
Hyperthyroidism. ..: & hypothhyroidism, for that matter, can certainly affect ovulation. The thyroid really needs to function normally for healthy pregnancy & baby to result. I don't think there is anything specific about hyperthyroidism that would cause a false negative pregnancy test; typically an error in testing (imprecise following of directions) is to blame. Work with your doctor to optimize thyroid function. ...Read more

If no sex since...: If a woman has had no sexual activities since delivering her baby, she cannot be pregnant again. Possibility of false negative pregnancy test 36 days after intercourse? Also on birth control and used condom but am having spotting and heavy cramps.
I took a pregnancy test at the dr office that came up a faint positive and two home tests since then that said negative. What should I do?
Defer to Doctor: Your doctor would have put in place a plan for your pregnancy if you were positive at the doctor's office. Blood tests would have been ordered and follow up visits scheduled. So, your scenario of being sent home and then continuing to do urine home pregnancy tests makes absolutely no sense. I think I would defer to the doctor who you are seeing in real person as to what to do next. ...Read more
