Pain in lower left abdomen, back pain and stool looks like it squeezed or watery. This I march seen many doctors. Tired of pain? Had colonoscopy

Hard to say: If you have had an extensive work-up, but still have no diagnosis, go back to your primary care physician and go over all of the tests and results and continued symptoms with him or her. Chances are, something is being overlooked or not addressed. In the meantime, for bowel dysfunction, eat yogurt twice daily and take a probiotic twice daily - like culturelle. Normalizing the bowel flora may work. ...Read more

When polyps are found during colonoscopy that are 2-3 CM in size why would a doctor leave them instead of taking a biopsy?

When polyps are found during colonoscopy that are 2-3 CM in size why would a doctor leave them instead of taking a biopsy?

Colonoscopy: Biopsies are usually only taken of any polyps that don't look normal. Polyps of that tiny size are unlikely to be a problem and to a trained eye, the risk of taking the biopsy probably higher than the risk of possible malignancy! I am sure you were told to have a follow up colonoscopy in 6 mos to 1 year. ...Read more

Could a colonoscopy or endoscopy allow the doctor to see the pancreas?

Only the duct system: Scopes are inside the intestines. The pancreas is external to the intestines.

During a colonoscopy a few weeks ago I remember my upper body being moved and/or shaken a bit by the nurse and doctor. Any reason for that?

Repositioning: Sometimes during a colonoscopy it is necessary to reposition you. This may allow for easier passage of the scope. It may also be done for other issues, like to improve your breathing or put you in a more comfortable position if you moved.

Depends on type: Hemorrhoids are typically classified as internal or external depending upon the location and blood source involved. External hemorrhoids can often be seen with a physical exam. However, internal hemorrhoids often can only be seen with some type of endoscopy. I suspect the hemorrhoids treated were likely the latter if they were not discovered on routine physical exam. ...Read more
