Pain in lower left abdomen, back pain and stool looks like it squeezed or watery. This I march seen many doctors. Tired of pain? Had colonoscopy
Hard to say: If you have had an extensive work-up, but still have no diagnosis, go back to your primary care physician and go over all of the tests and results and continued symptoms with him or her. Chances are, something is being overlooked or not addressed. In the meantime, for bowel dysfunction, eat yogurt twice daily and take a probiotic twice daily - like culturelle. Normalizing the bowel flora may work.See 1 more doctor answer
Purpose: colonoscopy: The premiere purpose is to prevent colon cancer. Almost all colon cancer starts with a benign growth, a polyp, which takes ten years to become cancer. Removing polyps during test eliminates risk for cancer! Can also look for other diseases (colitis, diverticulitis).See 2 more doctor answers
My doctor said he might use propofol during the colonoscopy. Isn't that the stuff that michael jackson took?
When polyps are found during colonoscopy that are 2-3 CM in size why would a doctor leave them instead of taking a biopsy?
Colonoscopy: Biopsies are usually only taken of any polyps that don't look normal. Polyps of that tiny size are unlikely to be a problem and to a trained eye, the risk of taking the biopsy probably higher than the risk of possible malignancy! I am sure you were told to have a follow up colonoscopy in 6 mos to 1 year.
My doctor said I need hemorrhoid banding after colonoscopy was done tomorrow I see doc is the banding usually done same day?

Do GI doctors perform anoscopes and rectoscopes during a colonoscopy? Can it be requested or are anoscope/rectoscope exclusive to proctologists?
Included: A colonoscope is inserted into the anus, ascends through the rectum, and goes on to check the rest of the bowel. Thus colonoscopy includes examination of the anus and rectum. However, if there is a suspicion of anal pre-cancer (e.g. In HIV positive men) a specialized magnifying instrument is used to assess the anus.
Doctor took biopsy on multiple sites during colonoscopy due to inflammation. Said it may be due to prep. Is she being kind to stop me worrying?
Only the duct system: Scopes are inside the intestines. The pancreas is external to the intestines. The opening of the duct leading from the pancreas into the intestines is visible. The endoscopist can enter that duct and inject a dye that will light up the ducts within the pancreas. This procedure can identify problems within the pancreatic duct system.
If a biopsy is taken during a colonoscopy will your doctor tell you? And will he tell you what the results were?
No: Something he saw needed clarification.Get a more detailed answer ›
Should I be worried about inflammation found inside my colon during colonoscopy? What can cause it? Doc said the biopsy came back normal?
Not now/depends,,,: At this point, unless you've got any positive signs of an inflammatory bowel condition, you should not worry excessively. Your biopsy was negative. Your mother having colon cancer should motivate you to take steps to take care of your health that way with a high fiber diet and check-ups like the colonoscopy that you did. Close follow up with your doctor also helps a lot.See 2 more doctor answers
During a colonoscopy a few weeks ago I remember my upper body being moved and/or shaken a bit by the nurse and doctor. Any reason for that?
Repositioning: Sometimes during a colonoscopy it is necessary to reposition you. This may allow for easier passage of the scope. It may also be done for other issues, like to improve your breathing or put you in a more comfortable position if you moved. Most colonoscopies are done under sedation and you are not entirely unconscious. You may remember parts of what happens but not the entire context.
