Can taking Prozac (fluoxetine) cause nose bleeds?

Epistaxis and Prozac (fluoxetine): If they are rare and only an insignificant amount of blood, it is not likely of much importance. Consider humidification and eliminating/decreasing of drying medications or over the counter agents you are on. Prozac and other ssri's can affect bleeding/clotting though. Some can get relief adding vitamin c (true for bruising as well). If the bleeding is many tissues, many times a day - see md.

Nosebleeds: One way to avoid nose bleeds is to use nasal saline, a sterile salt water solution, frequently. It keeps the mucous membranes in the nose moistened and can keep you from getting nose bleeds. If you get them frequently you might want to see an ENT physician. Sometimes they can treat the vessels in the nose so that they do not bleed.

What can be the cause of bleeding gum and nose bleeds and watery eyes?

See your doctor: The watery eyes may or may not be associated with the bleeding, or may be due to congestion from the nose bleed. Recurrent nose bleeds and bleeding gums should be evaluated by your internist. Do not delay visiting him/her.

Nose bleeds are: Common in childhood & often reflect irritants like dust, pollen, fumes, smoke etc that the kid is exposed to on a regular basis. These things accumulate in the nasal passages & lead to nasal rubbing when the kids are half asleep or during the day. The trauma causes small capillaries in the nose to blead. Nasal saline wash can remove the irritants & nasal saline gel helps if applied at night.

Cauterize: This sounds very disruptive! Most likely its a brittle vessel high up in the nose. See an ENT who can cauterize it and check for anything suspicious up there.

Had nose bleeds since using e cigarettes (vaper) stopped using last night had nose bleed lightly today nothing bad will this stop? No longer using vap

Had nose bleeds since using e cigarettes (vaper) stopped using last night had nose bleed lightly today nothing bad will this stop? No longer using vap

Epistaxis: Great decision to stop using e-cig. You're doing yourself a great favor. As for your nose bleeds (epistaxis), as long as they stop, you're most likely fine. But it's still a good idea for your Family Doc or even ENT to take a peek up there to make sure nothing else is going on. In meantime, use spare non-vaping time to eat right, exercise regularly & get enough sleep. Wrap it up each & every time.

Nosebleed guide: Most nose bleeds arise from trauma to the thin lining overlying the sensitive nasal cartilage. This trauma can be from a tissue, a finger, a knuckle, an arm swipe, etc. When you have a nosebleed, blow your nose, then pinch and hold for 5min. Don't peak. Then don't touch don't wipe. Don't put tissue in the nose to check it. This pulls the clot you just made off and it bleeds again. Hands off works.

Blood work: It could be the result of a cold or infection or something more. His doc can do some blood work to see if your friend has difficulty clotting and help if needed. That help could be medicine or diet modification.

My daughter has nose bleeds now and again, we mainly notice in the morning when she wakes up, only once she was bleeding during the fay. She is 2y10m?

Nose bleeds: Hi there. My kid too has this. The common causes are runny crusty noses that when picked whilst awake sleeping or on awakening cause damage to the small blood vessels in the nose. I use Vaseline to soften the crusts, regular saline nose rinse. Pls see your Gp to exclude any underlying ent issues as well

Is it normal for someones nose to bleed almost every day? My husband is 24 and gets nosebleeds almost everyday and he gets them for no reason without even touching his nose itll start bleeding and he will let the blood drip till it stops which is usually

It: It is certainly not normal to have nosebleeds daily. Most nosebleeding situations should resolve with a few days unless there are other underlying problems. Some of these predisposing conditions include deficiency of clotting factors, high blood pressure resulting in rupture of the vessels, trauma to the nasal membranes, sinus disease, vascular lesions, or rarely tumors of the nasal passages. Your husband's condition should be evaluated by an ENT specialist promptly. Besides treating any underlying condition, prolonged bleeding can lead to anemia which can then lead to other complications.

Can you also get nose bleeds from esophageal bleeding?

Can you also get nose bleeds from esophageal bleeding?

Maybe: Esophageal bleeding could theoretically come out the mouth or the nose, which could look like a nose bleed. Depending on the cause of the esophageal bleeding (ie a bleeding disorder?), that could predispose you to nose bleeds. Esophageal bleeding is generally something that needs medical attention though so please discuss with your doctor if you aren't already.

I smell blood in my 2 year old's nose. Over the past week she has had 2 nose bleeds and she fell from her bike prior to this. Is her nose bleeding int?

Not likely: If her nose were bleeding internally it would appear in her mouth. She probably has some rawness that may be causing the smell. Also make sure she doesn't have a foreign object stuck in her nose. Use a salt water nose spray to get out dried blood and also help prevent future nose bleeds
