What vitamins should I be taking? I am, female, live in canada. Health issues include abnormal pap in past and current ovarian cyst.
If you are eating a regular mixed diet, you probably do not need any additional vitamins. If is good that you are taking iron and vitamin D. You may take any over the counter multivitamin, if you so choose.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
Estrogen balance: Dim (di-indolyl-methane) is a compound derived from i3c (indole-3-carbinol) which comes from cruciferous veg such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts. It helps to facilitate the metabolism of estrogen and one of the factors for ovarian cysts may be excess of estrogen.

You: You should be seen by your doctor and have an ultrasound. An ultrasound is the best way typically to determine if a woman has ovarian cysts. Also if there is any chance you could be pregnant then please take a test. If you have worse pain, think you are pregnant, or have vomiting or fever then you should be seen as an emergency.
Possibly: Evening primrose is an antiinflammatory and a hormone modulator, so it may help somewhat with ovarian cysts. Chasteberry and red clover are other herbs sometimes used to treat ovarian cysts. Before you mix herbs with prescription medications, please check them out with either your md or a naturopath. Take care.

Question cut off: Please resubmit with a clear & specific question.
It depends: There are ovarian cysts that will go away over time, and others that are more serious and need surgery. Birth control pills prevent many types of cysts, and thus can be helpful in preventing cysts. They don't make cysts go away away faster, but they prevent some types of cysts. See your dr about what kind of cyst you have.

I'm taking birth control for an ovarian cyst and I'm going back in 4 months to check and see if it's gone. Will it make it go away?
Ovarian Cyst: Ovarian cysts are actually quite common in premenopausal women. (The function of the ovary by nature is to produce cysts each month). BCPs do not make the cysts go away. They prevent ovulation, which allows the ovaries to "rest" while the cyst resolves on its own, and no further ones develop. Should be gone by this time. Good luck!

Taking MRI for ovarian cyst. I didn't take it last time I had it. Removed only cyst by lap surgery. Why do I have to take MRI this time?
Depends: With prior operation, they want to be sure if it is a cyst, or if more than one, or any other abnormalities in area. Ct or MRI can help.
Someone is taking adipex that doesn't need it- now has unexplained ovarian cyst/female and various kidney issues. Is there a possible connection?
No: It is unlikely that adipex would cause these complications. It is important that the patient is being treated by an experienced bariatrician to avoid any complications while losing weight.
