If your ENT doctor doesn't think tonsillectomy is recommended or required, you should accept that advice, or maybe ask for referral to someone else for a second opinion. NO other good option: Tonsil enlargement is quite common, but unfortunately yours are too big (even not infected--as pictured here) and causing problems for you. A short-course of steroid may help it a bit, but it is not a lasting solution. I would encourage speaking with the ENT surgeon to find out what is involved in the surgical process.
