My opinion,yes: I have seen hundreds of children with add, adhd and even autism where there is laboratory proof of vitamin b1 deficiency. Sugar: Jaggery has about the same calories and so not likely to offer much advantage as far as weight loss but would have some added nutritional properties beyond table sugar.
