My rheumatologist instructed me to just stop taking my Neurontin (gabapentin) i started on 300 and worked my way to 1800 over about 1.5 months is that good advice?

Taper gradually: Neurontin (generic name gabapentin) is actually an anti seizure medication that is used for pain syndromes, neuropathy, among other off-label uses. How well?: I don't see that hair loss is a major side effect of Neurontin, (gabapentin) but to be technical the best way to know for sure is to stop it and see if the hair loss stops. BUT, I wouldn't do this without consulting with the prescribing doctor, and hair regrowth could take many months so may be hard to tell anyway. ...Read more
