Bleeding, anemia: Fibroids, also called leiomyomas are benign uterine tumors (not cysts) that can cause pain and heavy bleeding with your periods. If they are causing very heavy periods, this can lead to anemia and the dizziness, lightheadedness, etc you described. They are easily diagnosed with an ultrasound. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. These stress responses could prove beneficial in a critical, life-or-death situation. Over time, however, repeated stressful situations put a strain on the body that may contribute to physical and psychological problems. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more

Dizziness and lightheadedness due to physical stress?

Physical stress: Heavy physical labor can cause dizziness & lightheadedness from insufficient blood going to the brain. This is most commonly due to dehydration (from sweating) leading to low blood pressure. Other possibilities include cardiac (heart) conditions and diseases of the blood vessels to the brain. Does stress cause lightheaded, feeling off balance, and dizzy when standing up? Suddenly, i felt like I was going to fall because I was so lightheaded

Maybe (not) . . .: Yes, your symptoms might be due to anxiety/panic disorder. But first you need to check w/your Family Doc to be sure it's not due to low blood pressure eg orthostatic hypotension, or perhaps a heart rhythm disorder or something else. In meantime, drink plenty of fluids (enough to make urine clear) & check your blood pressure at home while laying down, sitting & standing. Buy BP cuff at drug store. ...Read more

When I lay down I feel dizzy or lightheaded? What could this mean? Stress maybe.

See doctor: You take Benadryl and Lisinopril which may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure, perhaps more prominent when changing positions (?postural hypotension). Suggest you see your pcp for evaluation of meds and lightheadedness to rule out medical reasons for your symptoms. Meantime, change from standing lying down more slowly and try to reduce your stress. I hope this helps. ...Read more

In order to do so it needed to prepare our body. Now our dangers are such that there is no place to run and no body to really fight (usually) - but the physical preparation still happens and manifests in many of the symptoms you describe. www.thecoachmd.com. ...Read more
