Hi, I have strep throat (7 days). My neck and lower part of my head has been stiff the whole time. I have not had a fever at all. Menengitis?

Not likely: Though it is not likely, if you present to the ER, you might get a lumbar puncture to find out if you have meningitis. Since you have had this stiffness for 7 days and you don't have headache, fever, or change in your mental state, I doubt its something to worry about. ...Read more

What does fungal meningitis look like? Does it appear in throat? What are the symptoms? Live on state where there was outbreak. Thank you!

Fungal meningitis: There are several fungi that not infrequently cause meningitis. Among these are cryptococcus, coccidiodes, and rarely histoplasma and blastomyces. Without knowing whether you are referring to these or to the patients who received injections of contaminated steroids into their spinal column cannot answer your question very clearly. Meningitis has nothing to do with your throat directly. ...Read more

20 year old female, very tired (maybe due to endep) sore throat, headache, weird cloudy feeling in head. Anxiety it's meningitis making me feel worse?

Meningitis?: If you had Meningococcal meningitis you would be unlikely to be asking questions. This is a rapidly progressive and devastating illness with a high mortality rate. Back pain from scapula down, sore throat, headache, chills and shivers, mood swings, BUT NO FEVER, is meningitis still a possibility?

Possibly: Hi. There are many types of meningitis, some of which are not associated with fever. Fortunately, meningitis is rather uncommon. Any neck stiffness? Bothered by looking at bright lights? Cough or night sweats? You should see your doctor. A spinal fluid analysis may be indicated (or not — your doc will advise you on this). It may just be a pharyngitis with muscular back ache.
