Can Store Bought Medication Treat A Sti
No: Gonorrhea is treated with Ceftriaxone (it's injectable antibiotic), chlamydia with zithromax (oral antibiotic), trichomonas and bacterial vaginosis with Metronidazole (oral pill), hepres with Acyclovir or like drugs (pills), syphilis with penicillin shots. All of those are prescription meds, so the answer to your question is "no". ...Read more
STD is also known as Sexually transmitted disease. This is a disease which can be transmitted from one person to another person through sexually related activities. What are HIV & AIDS? What's the difference? Why is it the worst disease/STD according to majority of doctors? Are they treatable? P.S:I'm not infected
Virus versus disease: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a virus. The advanced form of HIV infection is acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). The term AIDS isn't used much anymore, mostly just called HIV infection. It's the worst STD because unlike all others, it is usually fatal if untreated. Treatment is very effective to both prolong life and prevent transmission to partners. Search online for more info. ...Read more
Depends: Chlamydia is usually treated with a single dose of Azithromycin or with a one week course of doxycycline. I doubt that your healthcare provider prescribed either of the aforementioned antibiotics for your urinary tract infection. I recommend that you go back and get treatment for chlamydia and that you also be tested and treated for gonorrhea as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Probabely normal : If you have been tested for std, trichomonas, bacterial infection, yeast infection and it has no odor and no responce to treatment.I will suggest dont take anything and hope it is normal for you.But if it changes in smell character get all the tests done again, as some infection might have been missed for some reason in initial exam and testing. ...Read more
Not really: Some antibiotics can prevent some STDs, but to prevent all common bacterial STDs would require at least 2 or even 3 different drugs. Even these would not prevent the 2 most common STDs, herpes and HPV. And taking multiple antibiotics brings a whole bunch of health problems. Therefore STD prevention relies on wise partner choice, safe sex, and early diagnosis & treatment, not prior antibiotics. ...Read more
Why is Herpes (non-STI type), lumped in with the STI tests? What percentage has it/gets it? Is there medication I can take to get rid of. I'm down.
No need to be "down": This question may have crossed with my reply to your similar one recently. That included an explanation why labs list HSV1 (the "non-STI" type) as an STI test. Why is this upsetting? Half of all adults in the US have HSV1 and most of those 150 million people aren't "down" about it. There is no curative treatment, but if you're having outbreaks, eg cold sores, see your doc for Rx to help symptoms. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
