See below: This is a hard to answer but great question. Depending on how big the tick is will help determine the difficulty of whether the whole tick and head is removed. The smaller the tick the harder it is to tell without a really good magnifying glass. If a dark spot is left after removing the tick, part of the head may still be there, but his might be blood too.
