Sure: But everybody sleeps at least part of the night with the mouth open--that's why your body shuts down saliva flow while sleeping. The "whiteness" can be from mediations, bacterial/fungal infection, or dehydration. Before bed: floss and brush your teeth, use a tongue scraper and rinse with an anti-microbial rinse like listerine. Sore throat: If you have an acute infection, decongestants in the short term will help you breath, but they may keep you up at night. Alternatively, decongestant nasal spray would help. Another easy fix is raising your head in bed. If it is a long term issue, I wouldn't use decongestants as they can raise blood pressure.
