Can my nasal sinuses cause tooth pain?

Can my nasal sinuses cause tooth pain?

Yes: The roots of the bicuspid and molar teeth sit just below the lower portion of the maxillary sinus, and inflammation in the sinuses can produce dental pain. But often, if there is apical root disease in those teeth this can result in secondary sinus infection. See a good ENT doctor and they will work this out.

No tooth pain, but excruciating right cheek pain for the past 4 days I've had a cold this past week. Could it be my sinuses?

No tooth pain, but excruciating right cheek pain for the past 4 days I've had a cold this past week. Could it be my sinuses?

Could be: If you press up, under your cheekbone and it hurts, then yes it could be your sinuses hurting. You can also put a finger in your mouth on the cheek side up by your upper teeth and press up. That is your sinus there and if it hurts when you press up, you most likely have sinus issues going on. Pain/pressure in your sinuses can also cause your upper molars to hurt as well. Hope you feel better!

What causes tooth pain in both upper and lower teeth?

What causes tooth pain in both upper and lower teeth?

Examination: Require complete clinical and radiographic imaging examination to accurately diagnose the problem. However in the absence of obvious decay or abscess or periodontal (gum) disease, the most likely cause is clenching / grinding. Typically this is caused by stress and is termed a parafunctional habit. Important to see your Dentist for evaluation, diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Good Luck.

Can cipro/floroquinolones cause tooth pain? I read they get into every part of the body including the teeth and I've been on cipro for about two weeks and have some tooth pain. Could this be related? I also read that it can cause calcification of the teet

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) not it.: The Cipro (ciprofloxacin) that you are taking would not be the cause of the tooth pain. Get the tooth pain checked by your dentist. You have no fear of calcification that you mention from short term Cipro (ciprofloxacin).

Could severe headaches, ranging in type and location, be caused by wisdom teeth coming in? I also have jaw stiffness, and tooth pain.

Could severe headaches, ranging in type and location, be caused by wisdom teeth coming in? I also have jaw stiffness, and tooth pain.

Maybe: As impacted or misaligned wisdom teeth try to erupt and grow, the put tremendous pressure to the teeth in front of them increasing the frequency of nightime clenching and this can be a source of facial pain and headaches.

I have been diagnosed with over active thyroid but does it cause headaches and tooth pain?

I have been diagnosed with over active thyroid but does it cause headaches and tooth pain?

Possibly: Could potentially cause headaches, but tooth pain is less likely. More frequently, depending where the headache is located (in the sinuses vs. Top or back of head, for ex.) sinus headaches cause simulated tooth pain and vice versa. Other potential causes are related to cranial bone dysfunction. Work with your dr on your thyroid, but consider osteopathic exam & manipulative treatment if ha persists.
