Sinusitis: Often, antibiotics are unnecessary in managing sinus infection. Treatment should be accompanied by nasal irrigation with saline (neti-pot), decongestants (pseudoephedrine or oxymetozaline nasal spray), possibly nasal steroids and pain control with nsaids. If these measures do not help, see an ENT doctor. Good luck.

Let your dr know: Referred pain patterns from the sinuses can go to different parts of the head / scalp. It's best to contact your doctor and let them know what you're experiencing. They may need to give you something that will help you feel better, plus document your symptoms. Hope you feel better soon!

Is it possible for a deep sinus infection to cause a swollen jaw and the back gums and teeth on one side to hurt really bad?

Is it possible for a deep sinus infection to cause a swollen jaw and the back gums and teeth on one side to hurt really bad?

Could Be: Actual swelling (that is look in the mirror and your face is puffy) from a sinusitis is not very common, but can occur in severe cases. Dental pain due to sinusitis is quite common and is usually focused in the upper back teeth. A bad tooth can mimic a sinusitis as well...or even cause sinusitis on rare occasions. Your dentist should be able to determine the source and treat/refer as needed.

Yes but headaches: Can have other causes, such migraines and even severe problems, such as brain tumors or brain bleeds. Other symptoms of sinus infections include nasal blockage, drainage in the front of the nose or back in the throat, and altered smell. A complete medical evaluation would be recommended for persistent throbbing in the head.

"A sinus infection can make your head feel fuzzy, lethargic or disconnected, & cause your cognitive symptoms to worsen." is this true?

"A sinus infection can make your head feel fuzzy, lethargic or disconnected, & cause your cognitive symptoms to worsen." is this true?

Unusual: However a lingering infection in the sinus can indeed cause fatigue, headaches, and even dizziness on occasions. The only possible link to cognitive function impairment is the fatigue. It should be noted that uncontrolled allergic rhinitis has led to mild cognitive impairment when studied in children and thus the answer is possible. Psychologic /neurologic evaluation?

Can sinus infection cause sore spots on head?

Unlikeli: Sinus infection can cause headache and tooth like pain. Sometimes it can cause discharge from eyes and pressure in ears. But skin infection on the scalp is unrelated unless transferred by dirty hands (nose picking and scalp scratching. ..)! wash your hands when blowing nose or touching your eyes and face always!

Will a sinus infection cause light headed and fatigue or could it be an std?

Will a sinus infection cause light headed and fatigue or could it be an std?

Both, either or none: Sinus infection is very tricky. It may mimic many conditions including but not limiting to those you mentioned. Advanced std may do the same if left untreated. Number of medical and mental conditions may do the same. See your primary doctor first to sort it out. Do not expect to get all answers at once. Extensive work up is required sometime to get the right answers.

Headache: Headaches are common phenomena and can be associated with numerous other conditions, including ear and sinus infections. Unfortunately cannot tell over the internet whether your particular HA is due to these. Would need more history and physical exam. If these keep up please go and see your family doctor.

Sinus infection.: This is not ok. You should definitely go back to see your doctor and should make contact as soon as possible. As soon as you are well you should find a way to stop smoking as this will cause you increasing problems and disease.

What would cause top of head to be sore, even hurts to move hair. Also have sinus infection/ blocked sinus?

Local infection: You may have a boil or cellulitis or inflammation in your scalp. Suggest evaluation by a dermatologist. Potentially could be part of a headache syndrome as well. I would recommend starting with a basic medical evaluation by an Internist or Family doctor.
