If my herpe sores go away and I have sex, will it make them worse or come back? And will I always give my sex partner herpes?
Sex partner has two clusters of little bumps under tip of penis. They're flat and not red. He said they've always been there. Don't trust him. Herpes?
Not herpes: Your description doesn't sound like herpes or any other STD, and no STD would last so long. Herpes lesions are blisters or open sores that never last more than 1-2 weeks. This is some sort of minor anatomical variant, probably normal periurethral glands, or maybe fordyce spots (prominent sebaceous glands) or pearly penile papules. These are normal in many men. Don't worry about this. ...Read more
Dr did blood work for herpes & came bk + for hsv1 and hsv2. How is it I have Hsv2 if I have only had one sex partner my husband?
Depends on the test: The test could be positive for "Herpes 1 and 2" without being able to tell the difference between "1 and 2". The better test could be "positive for Herpes 1" and "positive for Herpes 2" because the better test can tell the difference between "1 and 2". So, the first thing is to find out which test was done. If unsure, one can go do the better test (HerpeSelect). ...Read more
1st sex partner left me with anal & vaginal intense burning, strong fecal odor that then turned into a fishy odor, still in anus, sounds like herpes?
Possible to create herpes if you have a vaginal infection and have unprotected sex wit only one partner who has no herpes? No other sexual partners.
No: Humans cannot create herpes (nor create any other life form). It will be a really scary day when man figures out how to create life forms like bacteria or viruses! Herpes only comes from somebody else's herpes, but it does not have to be a sexual type of contact. For example, lip "cold sores" are herpes, and most people got them through non-sexual contact. ...Read more
Noticed brown shiny spot on penis head. 2 DRs say irritation frm wiping frm mastrbating. 1 sex partner. No pain/puss. HPV or Herpes? How to cure it?
Probably not serious: For sure this isn't herpes. I suppose it could be HPV, but a new HPV lesion would be rare at your age of 39. There are many possibilities, and the large majority of skin problems of teh penis are not STDs and aren't serious. Since two doctors apparently aren't certain, consider seeing a dermatologist. ...Read more

New sex partner 2 weeks. Recent fever & chills. Next day abscess with white head on vaginal lip. 2 more showed up. Express Care said not typical herpe?
Herpes seems likely: Herpes rashes can take many forms -depending on the strain of virus and the host (the patient). It's possible you have some natural resistance to herpes, say if you already have HSV-1 the 'cold sore' virus. Herpes lesions (the rashes) usually are quite painful. The history of a new partner, and then these rashes makes me suspicious. Herpes is very common - most people don't even know they have it. ...Read more
Is it possible to test positive on IgG herpes hsv 2 test and not have it? (Is it possible chicken pox virus/shingles could also cause positive result?)
False positive: IgG tests are possible. There can be some cross-reactivity with other viral antibodies. The definitive diagnosis of specific viruses including HSV 1, 2 and HIV is a western blot test. This also tests for antibody protein but to the specific virus. I believe getting an HSV2 western blot should be your next step. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Hi, I'm 33 and I've been diagnosed with herpes zoster. I had unprotected passive sex 3 weeks ago with a man who might have syphilis. Are the 2 related?
No: Herpes zoster (shingles) is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles.
