Can you take Benecol drinks with warfarin? I can't find any information?

Benecol and warfarin: Benecol and warfarin should not have any significant interactions. However, you are on high risk medications in terms of drug-drug interactions with warfarin (esp flecainide). What vegetables do you suggest that I eat or don't eat that will not affect the Coumadin (warfarin) while im taking it?

What vegetables do you suggest that I eat or don't eat that will not affect the Coumadin (warfarin) while im taking it?

The problem: The problem is not so much what vegetables to avoid, but in being consistent with your intake. Vegetables and their nutrients are very important for your overall health. I agree with my colleagues that large amounts of vit k can interfere with coumadin's anti-thrombotic effect, but your Coumadin (warfarin) dose can be adjusted to your diet. Whole foods are much safer than vit k supplements in this regard. ...Read more

Takn Coumadin (warfarin) hvn't ben able 2eat much lately&have los 8+lbs n 2wks I don't know y. But got INR checked 2day & it was 6.1y? Is this dangerous menstrualonalso

Go see your doctor..: Now! You didn't explain why you're taking Coumadin (warfarin) but we typically aim for inr 2-3 if for blood clot or atrial fibrillation or clotting disorder. We aim for 2.5-3.5 if you have mechanical valve. Inr of 6.1 is way too high. Your Coumadin (warfarin) dose needs to be held/adjusted & inr monitored closely until back into therapeutic range. 8 lb weight loss in 2wks is not normal either. Go see your doctor now! ...Read more

Explain the effects of warfarin tablets.?

Explain the effects of warfarin tablets.?

Effects of Warfarin: Warfarin is a vitamin k antagonist, hence it will block all the vit k dependent clotting factors preventing the formation of the fibrin clot. It effectively delays your blood from clotting. It is important to take the right dose so the blood clotting is delayed to an optimum time. This is done by checking pt (prothrombin or factor ii time) and inr. Details of this will be out of scope. ...Read more

What can you eat safely if you are on warfarin?

What can you eat safely if you are on warfarin?

Anything. & Careful!: First of all pay attention to the fact that warfarin therapy is life saving in range and life threatening outside that range. Technically you can and should have a varied, healthy diet. That said, you must be cognizant of the fact that dark leafy greens absolutely affect the pt/inr. On the other hand if you eating consistent amounts of greens, your levels should not vary. Check pt-inr regularly. ...Read more

What is the warfarin disease?

Don't know: I googled "warfarin disease" and couldn't find anything other than warfarin necrosis which is a condition that occurs in some people who are treated with warfarin (a blood thinner). Is redbush tea safe with warfarin?

Is redbush tea safe with warfarin?

Probably, however...: I am not a fan of warfarin because it has more interactions than any drug; it seems like virtually every food & medicine renders it more or less active. Redbush tea is not known to interact with warfarin but it would not surprise me if it did to some degree. Try it but monitor your PT to make sure the dose does not need adjusting. I advise taking a low dose of Vit K. See http://tinyurl. Com/n4vpk8b ...Read more
