Wait: I'd recommend that you try some antihistamine eye drops (Zaditor ™) Claritin ™ or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) ™, & cool compresses first before seeing evaluation at a quick care center. Also, if, after a few days, your symptoms are substantially better, then this may just be what you thought along, ie., allergies. The fluid sac will lessen. However, if u r slowly recovering, an Eye MD would be the best doc to see. ...Read more

Too dry in room?: Is there alot of heat in your toom that is drying the air out. If so, you want to get a humidifier. If you do not itch during the day, it is probably not allergies. You could also put sterile eyedrops in your eye before bed and see if that helps. ...Read more

Severely Itchy eyes for over a week that get bloodshot and swollen due to rubbing. Symptom subsides with anti-histamine eyedrops and pill, but effects wear off in 6-8 hours. No secretions. Am also recovering from a cold and cough.

Could be allergies: Colds should not cause itching of the eyes. Ketotifen eye drops work for up to 12 hrs for ocular allergy. Cool compresses can also help the redness and itch. Keep your hands away from your eyes, it will only make things worse. ...Read more
