Does long term antibiotic use cause yellow teeth in kids with acne?

Does long term antibiotic use cause yellow teeth in kids with acne?

Unlikely: The tetracyclines were used many years ago for a variety of infections as one of the earlier effective antibiotics. By 30 years ago most understood that they could stain teeth if used while the teeth were forming & quit using them for kids under 8-10yrs. A teen with acne has already passed the stage where staining would occur.

I have ulcers in my mouth and small red acnes under l the skin in my chest what it would be and may stress be a cause for it?

Stress is good: Most "stress" is helpful -- it keeps us from doing nothing and wasting our lives, and provides the discomfort we need to make us achieve and be fulfilled. The "stress" that comes from abuse or impossible situations needs to be managed, and we can learn new patterns of thinking to cope better. Acne and mouth sores are only marginally stress-related & best managed medically. Cheers.

I've noticed a few breakouts popping up around my mouth. Can kissing a bearded man cause acne? Thanks!

I've noticed a few breakouts popping up around my mouth. Can kissing a bearded man cause acne? Thanks!

No: Don't try to figure out why you are getting acne. It is never helpful. Be glad you have a relationship -- I am happy for you. Use topical benzoyl peroxide twice a day or else retinitis acid or a salicylic acid wash. Eventually you will outgrow it -- I was able to stop using medicines when I was 50. Best wishes.

How can I clear acne fast, and fix my teeth.?

How can I clear acne fast, and fix my teeth.?

Unrelated: You'll have to see a dermatologist to determine what strong medication can be used to help your skin condition. Regarding your teeth, can't tell how much treatment is needed to "fix" them. Consult with a local dentist who can examine you and listen to your concerns about your smile.

Meds?: Are you taking any medications for your acne? Some medications enable tooth discoloration. You need to see a 1) a skin specialist, a Dermatologist, and 2) a Dentist. The two can wok together so that you can once again be proud of your appearance.

I'm 16 and taking doxycycline for 3 months for my acne. Is this going to stain my teeth as white teeth are very important to me.

I'm 16 and taking doxycycline for 3 months for my acne. Is this going to stain my teeth as white teeth are very important to me.

No: Tetracycline or doxycycline staining only occurs when your teeth are being formed (in utero) or when you are an infant. So your mother would have to have been given it, or you were given it at a very young age. So you have no worries at this point

Doubtful: I doubt that completion of antibiotic and pain pills would bring on acne - but even if it did, you can't be on either long-term. See your PCP or a dermatologist if it is too bad to tolerate. Best!

Facial pain: Hard to say when there is so little information. Acne or another skin lesion is suspect. Sometimes an examination of the oral cavity and perioral regions is limited by the dentist to the teeth only. A panoramic xray is a good screening tool to use to look for other sources of pain, and many times things like "cracked" teeth are completely overlooked or dismissed. See an oral surgeon.

Dysbiosis/candida: Antibiotics are sometimes needed for infections but besides killing germs they kill many of the friendly bacteria in our bodies. This leads to overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria & yeast & can lead to food sensitivities. Avoid sweets & dairy, take probiotics & antimicrobial herbs like garlic & olive leaf extract. See http://www. Mix of problems: You have a mix of different problems here -- some which are chronic, and others which are more acute. Both need attention. Your low grade fever may well relate to your tooth abscess -- is a dentist treating you? Antibiotics alone without dental treatment will likely not eliminate the infection or the fever. The other issues can be addressed via your primary care physician and psychiatrist.
