Pain: In morning is most common in the heel area. You don't mention if its in the same area of the ankle injury. If its in the ankle it could be scar tissue from tight ligaments after injury. Try stretches and if continues see your doctor. ...Read more

Depends: If you've had your thumb x-rayed and the x-rays are neg. For a fracture and there are no instabilities of any of the thumb joints....Then i would begin to increase your activities using your thumb more and more... A soft tissue injury to the small joints of the thumb(sprain) can take 3-6 mons. To be totally pain free.... If there is no improvement within a few weeks....See a hand surgeon. ...Read more
