It may slow things: Down a little. Insure that you are hydrating well (at least 64 oz water/ day). Aim for at least 5 servings of veggies and 4 of fruit per day. Moderate dairy use and avoid poor quality carbs. Get daily physical activity. You can try an otc laxative. If these measures don't help with your constipation - then discuss with your doctor. Lose Weight (Definition)

Many people resolve to lose weight in the New Year for different reasons. For those who are overweight or obese, there are many health benefits to losing weight. It can help decrease your chances of developing diseases including diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, and even certain types of cancer. Low-calorie diets combined with increased physical activity are thought to be most effective long term. The healthiest weight loss regimen, therefore, is one that consists of making lifestyle changes that incorporate a balanced diet ...Read more

If you poop a lot do you lose weight?

If you poop a lot do you lose weight?

It depends: On what's causing you to poop. If you have an illness, infectious or autoimmune, then you might not be absorbing your food properly, and you will probably lose weight. You should definitely see your doctor. If you want to poop so you lose weight, then no. Your bathroom scale might lower in the short term, but you haven't really lost any excess body fat, just water and, well, poop. Read more

Is it true that some people get colonoscopies, just to lose weight or get them because they can't go poop for a while.?

Not to lose weight: I am not aware of colonoscopies being performed for weight loss purposes. However worsening constipation in the right clinical context is an indication for diagnostic colonoscopy. Read more

Is foul smelling stool a good sign if one's trying to detox and lose weight?

Is foul smelling stool a good sign if one's trying to detox and lose weight?

What are you taking?: There's a very good chance that your "detox" is the problem. Any change in diet, alteration in gut flora, or purgative agents may change your stool pattern & odor. Please keep in mind that not everything bought in a health food store, or "natural" products (however well intentioned in taking), may agree with you or be entirely safe. Stop the product & resume a balanced diet--see doc if persists. Read more

If you having a bowel movement everyday can you lose weight from that?

If you having a bowel movement everyday can you lose weight from that?

You should BM daily: It is normal and healthy to have at least one bowel movement daily. Bms are a way to eliminate undigested food material, toxins and waste from the body. One should not use bowel movements as a weight loss method. If you have unexplained weight loss you should check in with your healthcare provider. Read more

If I'm can stool softeners to lose weight, should I take them?

If I'm can stool softeners to lose weight, should I take them?

Please not for that!: There is no meaningful or long-term weight loss with stool softeners--only temporary laxation of stool and maybe loss of some "water". A healthy and long-term approach to weight loss (and keeping the weight off once lost) is consistently making good food choices (avoid high-calorie density foods that are high in fat and processed sugars), minimize snacking, control portion size, and exercise. When you have a bowel movement do you lose weight?

When you have a bowel movement do you lose weight?

Yes: Technically yes but it's an insinsible loss, much like sweating or urinating. It is not weight loss in the true sense of losing fat. From this prespective, every time you eat or drink you gain weight. This is why a persons weight varies throughout the day. The best way to probably weigh yourself is to weigh in the morning after using the bathroom and before eating. Read more

Myths&facts about bowel movement*? Like, is it ok to force self to go*? Do you actually lose weight if u go after a meal? What to look out for?

Wt loss stool only: Best for your bowels: plenty fluids, regular physical activity, avoiding eating a lot of foods that slow bowels, like fatty, high sugar, empty calorie snacks & a lot of cheese & meat. And eating plenty fiber-rich foods - fruits, & especially vegetables. No surprise, right? Straining is not good, & can lead to hemorrhoids & painful fissures. Regular laxatives also not good. Hope that helps. Read more

Have been eating less to loose weight and pooping less often. Does more food = more poop and less food = less poop?

Have been eating less to loose weight and pooping less often. Does more food = more poop and less food = less poop?

Not necessarily: You could eat less food but increase you fiber intake by switching to high fiber foods and keep your bowel movements regular. Or you could take a fiber laxative like Metamucil. In either case drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Read more

Can damage of the end of the abdominal wall cause pain initially? Can it make a person loose weight and effect bowel movement? Is constipation involve

Can damage of the end of the abdominal wall cause pain initially? Can it make a person loose weight and effect bowel movement? Is constipation involve

Unclear. What do you: Mean by "end of abdominal wall". As Soul? Mind? Brain? Body creatures, sensation of pain signals from body to brain help prevent injury/death, yet there are many more complex interacting issues & mind/brain are dominant. Thus if mind interpretation of events changes decisions then all kinds of body behaviors change in response (including changes in eating/use-of-food/weight & bowel patterns). Read more
