Vertigo/dizziness upon moving head and changing positions for 4 days. Nausea and slight headache. Just got a cat... Does this sound like an allergy?
Vertigo : Not the most likely explanation. Vertigo like you describe is more likely to be due to a viral infection than to your new cat, although it's not impossible for a cat allergy to cause inflammation in your ears and lead to a stopped up head and vertigo. The commonest symptoms of cat allergy are itchy eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion and runny nose. See a doctor soon; vertigo is horrible! ...Read more

How can I tell if I have a cold, allergies or the flu? I had sneezing, fatigue, muscle pains, no fever, nausea, headaches, & dizzy past for few days.
Cough ; congestion: Allergies often last longer and recur often. A cold does not recur and lasts for about a week or so. When you have this much coughing with nasal congestion and phlegm production, otc cold/sinus medication might relieve some of your symptoms. If it lasts for a long time, you have fever or produce colored phlegm, you should see a doctor. An allergist can sort this out for you. ...Read more

Can I take an otc antihistamine along with bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) and prednisone? It is not for allergic reaction from bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim), just for pollen allergy
Yes: However, you may find that the prednisone (assuming you're using it for something else) helps more for the pollen allergy than antihistamine. If you are receiving treatment for chronic or worsening sinus pressure/infection, then I strongly recommend seeing an Allergist to get help in the future. Recurrent sinus infections will persist unless the allergy is addressed properly. Good luck! ...Read more

No: These arent common side effects of metformin. However, that does not discount your experience. That they happen after each dose lends credence to it being the pill youre taking, and it may be the metformin itself, and it may be other ingredients in the tablet. (It could also be neither.) Speak to your doctor — solutions may be as simple as trying a different generic pill as the first step. ...Read more
