Can Pleurisy Be Caused By Being Overweight And Out Of Shape
Was told to see dr. Due to beta proyien levels being too high. Is this dangerous, and what could be the cause of this? I've survived cancer 2 times, I'm a 48yr old female. Don't drink, or smoke, and am not over weight, or out of shape.
I assume you meant to type beta protein. Beta amyloid proteins in the blood are often associated with a predisposition to familial alzheimers. The proteins per se do not cause alzheimers. You should consult with a neurologist who will possible suggest other testing and do baseline tests of memory and cognitive function. It is good that you do not drink or smoke and generally keep yourself in shape. This finding is not related to your cancer history.
In itself the elevated protein is not dangerous but bears watching. Good luck to you. ...Read more

The pain in my lower back area close to my left kidney or lower left lung, could have been caused by an abnormal twist movement this afternoon. Could it be just a lung pleurisy? Caused by me twisting my long separating it from some lining?
Left lower back pain: Pleurisy unlikely unless coughing, SOB, and have an URTI. Pleural separation is seen in pneumothorax or effusion and would be associated with more breathing issues, short of breath (SOB)- twisting is unlikely to cause it. If concerned can get a chest xray. Most likely just muscle strain from twisting for which warms soaks, NSAIDS if not allergic, can help. May also be stone. F/u/ w/ MD ...Read more

Indirectly: Inflammation on some parts of the lung that would cause pleurisy could irritate the heart and trigger an SVT. Usually, someone would be predisposed to the SVT for this to happen, and even in this case the connection between the two would be weak. Sometimes the chest pain can come from the SVT and be attributed to pleurisy instead. Sometimes the same underlying cause leads to both. See doc. ...Read more
