Yes.: Probably have sprained the muscle with post-traumatic inflammation. The fact that when you play, you have no pain, but only after, is a good sign. I beleieve you should rest for several days, and then practice at a lower intensity, until you have no post-play pain! ...Read more

Eustachian tube: The opening of your eustachian tube drains your inner ear into your nose. Certain positions of the jaw can open it allowing air to equalize. This is the "pop" you feel. If it's bothersome, i recommend nasal saline rinses and maybe an over the counter allergy pill such as zyrtec.
