Depends: If you have classic adult pink eye, which is viral, then you most likely have one of the viruses lasting 3-10 days with complete resolution. Yes: That is a reported side effect and if extreme can be a sign of allergic reaction to the drug. This is made more severe if taken in combo w/ alcohol.
