A virus can cause early infection but some times there is a secondary infection involving the sinuses, specially if you are prone to it

Sick for 5 days. Started as a sore throat moved to my nose and now I'm coughing up green phlegm. I also have a low fever and nausea what could it be?
See below: May have started as common cold (viral) but developed secondary bacterial infection of throat/nasal passages/sinuses. Phlegm probably from post-nasal drainage & may be source of nausea. See fp for evaluation. If only viral, will run its course with symptomatic treatment. If bacterial, antibiotics will clear it up (along with symptomatic treatment). ...Read more

Past 4days red sore throat w 1 blister on tonsil. Red spots on roof of mouth. Yesterday started runny nose, mild phlegm, nausea, & mild cramps. No fever.
Pharyngitis: First you need a pregnancy test if any possibility then a full history and exam. Sounds like the common cold with a possible bacterial infection superimposed on your throat. Viruses cause most of pharyngitis and can cause a vesicular appearance but if the blister on tonsil has yellow discharge more likely to be strep with fever tenderness and absence of cough. See MD ...Read more

Any advice? I have got phlegm going on. Not too much but I'm also congested. I don't feel sick yet but. Worried.
Some mornings I wake up and hack up some yellow/brown phlegm. Its usually when I first wake up. I don't have a cough or feel sick. Is this normal?
Maybe postnasal drip: Mild nasal allergies can cause some muscus dripping in back of throat/mouth and collects there during sleep and can turn a bit brown in the am. During day, little mucus/drip is pulled down by gravity, but when sleeping mucus tends to stay in back of throat and thus productive coughing/coughing in the early am. If worsens, call doc for eval. Good luck. ...Read more

I have a lot of phlegm in my nose and throat, but don't feel sick. Nose constantly blocked or filled with phlegm, how do I get rid of it?
Allergens and reflux:
This can be due to a response to allergens - most probably inhalents. Best is to use a saline nasal spray, anti histamins, or a cortisone nasal spray. I will check what you are intolerant to - maybe dogs/cats in the house, house dust mite, grass, dust, smoking, etc
For that you can do an allergy test.
I would also check with a medical practitioner whether you have a problem with gastric reflux. ...Read more

I have a sore throat, phlem, nd a mild headache, my stomache hurts alittle too but no nausia. Is it possible I have a sinus infection?
Not as likely: Maybe, but all of those symptoms fit many other infections that are usually caused by viruses. Sinus infections are really not as common as folks may think, and even if present do not need antibiotics right away. For most of these kinds of problems, fluids, rest and other symptomatic care is first line for treatment, especially if just starting to feel bad. Follow-up if things worsen. ...Read more
Lots possible here: Vomiting reflex is controlled by 2 units in brain medulla--one receives nerve impulses from GI tract, the other is a chemical receptor. Both have nerve connections to not only GI tract (pharynx, mesenteric vessels, bile ducts) but also from brain corticobulbar areas that mediate smells, sights, & taste. Maybe you have gastritis, but maybe your symptoms have little to do with GI tract. Get checked. ...Read more
