Can appendix cause pains for months i've had pains in lower right abdomen since 5 months all tests normal including 2 cat scans?

Can appendix cause pains for months i've had pains in lower right abdomen since 5 months all tests normal including 2 cat scans?

Unlikely: Although uncommon, chronic pain from undiagnosed and or previously ruptured acute appendicitis can occur. However, an abdominal ct scan is a very effective test to exclude this possibility. In the setting of 2 prior ct scans for right lower quadrant andominal pain, it's extemely unlikely that the appendix would not show evidence of appendicitis or prior rupture to explain the pain. ...Read more

I have lower abdominal pain with intestinal spasms. Negative pregnancy test, had a CT of the abdomen done. Would the scan show a pregnancy?

I have lower abdominal pain with intestinal spasms. Negative pregnancy test, had a CT of the abdomen done. Would the scan show a pregnancy?

CT scan: To answer your question, yes, a CT scan would show a pregnancy if it were large enough. However, if you had a pregnancy test done at the hospital, and it was negative, then you are not pregnant. The hospital would not even do a CT scan if they suspected you might be pregnant. There must be an alternative explanation for your symptoms. You should speak with your doctor about your results.Good luck. ...Read more

After having my ectopic tubal removal surgery last year, i have had many issues with nausea, bloating and pressure in my stomach. Blood work was good. Upper endoscopy was negative for anything wrong.

My period is 8 days late. Pain in my abdomen, cervix and breasts. Blood tests and ultrasounds show that I am healthy also not preg. What is the cause?

Hormones: If your period is late, but your not pregnant, it's likely that the symptoms you are experiencing are due to hormones. At age 25, depending on any other medical conditions you may have, this could be normal. Birth control pills can help to regulate your hormones and decrease these symptoms women get right before their period starts. See your doctor to discuss this. ...Read more

Lower right abdomen pain for 33 days. Appendix shown healthy on ultrasound. Had no other symptoms during these days. Should i be worried?

More information plz: When does it hurt? Is there a time of the day when the pain is present or worse? Does eating make it better or worse? Is it related to a particular food? Are you having normal bowel movements? The first thing I would recommend is to keep a food and symptom log for several days. Write down everything you eat and when the pain happens. Then take that to your doctor. It will help narrow it down. ...Read more

Im 41 w/ 3 kids, My CT scan for abdominal pain came back as ruptured cysts on my ovaries and also thickening of endometrium..what should i expect next?

Probable resolution: Chances are that your abdominal pain will probably resolve as (and if) the "ruptured ovarian cyst" disappear. Since the thickness of the inner lining of your uterus changes throughout your menstrual cycle, a "thickening of your endometrium" at age 41 is not really meaningful or significant if your menses are normal. A pelvic sonogram in 3 to 4 months may offer you additional reassurance. ...Read more

I've been having lower abdominal pain. I had a CT scan and my ovaries are enlarged, 4.5 CM each. What can cause that enlargement? No mention of cysts.

I've been having lower abdominal pain. I had a CT scan and my ovaries are enlarged, 4.5 CM each. What can cause that enlargement? No mention of cysts.

Ovary size: Ovaries are usually not completely spherical, so size is best assessed by volume measurement. This is calculated using measurements in 3 dimensions, e.g. length, width, and height. An ovary with a maximum diameter of 4.5 cm is not necessarily enlarged, it depends on what the other 2 measurements are. I wouldn't diagnose ovarian enlargement with one measurement, it can be misleading. ...Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
