Does ovarian cyst making stop my period for two months?

Does ovarian cyst making stop my period for two months?

Possibly: The presence of hormonally active ovarian cysts can definitely have an effect on your cycle. If you period is absent, then you must check a pregnancy test. The workup would also include tests of thyroid function and measures of other hormones.

I had regular period before using provera (medroxyprogesterone) for 3month because of 3 ovarian cyst. When I stop using it my priod became irregular why?

I had regular period before using provera (medroxyprogesterone) for 3month because of 3 ovarian cyst. When I stop using it my priod became irregular why?

Depo-provera?: If referring to depo-provera, it is not uncommon to have irregular menstrual cycles afterwards, as ovulatory cycles are temporarily disrupted. It takes time for Lupron (leuprolide) to be completely out of one's system. It is not uncommon for several months to pass before regular menstrual cycles return. However, if still irregular menses after 6 months, it is reasonable to consult gyn for further evaluation.

Ovarian Cyst: Ovarian cysts do not stop your periods, women have a cyst every month that ruptures and releases an egg when they ovulate. You can miss a period from pregnancy, stress, hormone changes, infection, excessive exercise among other causes. You may need to consult your doctor at this point.

Can ovarian cyst cause ovulation to stop and cause irregular periods?

Can ovarian cyst cause ovulation to stop and cause irregular periods?

Yes: The excess estrogen from the ovarian cyst brings future ovulation to a halt and causes periods to be irregular until the cyst is resolved.

Perhaps: Missed/late period: low body wt, obesity, weight ^ or v, ^exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, perimenopause, just starting menstruation, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems (i.e., polycystic ovary syndrome). #1 reason is pregnancy.

Anovulation: You may have anovulation (absence of ovulation) that manifests in absent periods followed by profuse irregular bleeding spells. This usually happens because various portions of the uterine lining slough off at different times causing you to have the pattern you describe. Talk to your doc, as you may benefit from a trial of birth control pills.

Can ovarian cyst cause extremely light period?

Can ovarian cyst cause extremely light period?

Not that I am aware: Of. An ovarian cyst can sometimes cause pelvic pain, but a simple ovarian cyst should not have any effect on a patient's period.

Can ovarian cyst cause pain before and after period?

Can ovarian cyst cause pain before and after period?

Yes, potentially: If it is large one (not just the normal follicular cysts that women develop in the normal course of hormone production to cause the menstrual cycle to occur). Also if the cyst does not resolve as it should normally, then it could cause pain.

Is longer mentruation period a sign of having an ovarian cyst?

Is longer mentruation period a sign of having an ovarian cyst?

Not really: Excess bleeding in volume or timing is more often associated with a uterine problem like fibroids or polyps. Sometimes an ovarian cyst can throw off a cycle or delay ovulation. But it doesn't usually cause your periods to just be heavier in general.

Could an ovarian cyst cause you to have black discharge during the next period?

Could an ovarian cyst cause you to have black discharge during the next period?

Not per se: An ovarian cyst by itself should not alter the menstrual bleeding. However, depending on the type of cyst, it may be associated with hormonal disturbance. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD. Consult this site for more information on this topic. Http://www. Nichd. Nih. I have ovarian cyst. I have spotting and pains before period. Does cyst cause spotting? And pain too

Yes: Ovarian cysts produce large amounts of estrogen and other hormones that can cause spotting. The pain is from the weight of the enlarged ovary in the pelvic cavity or its' leakage.

Period is 31 days late, negative hpts. What could be wrong? I have a history of one functional ovarian cyst

Period is 31 days late, negative hpts. What could be wrong? I have a history of one functional ovarian cyst

Likely hormonal: Your period is 31 days late, meaning your last menstrual period was about 2 months ago. I see you have done a home pregnancy test which was negative. If you are not pregnant, the cause may be hormonal. Irregular periods are a very common problem and can be treated. I recommend seeing an ob/gyn doctor for evaluation, especially if you don't have a period in the next two months.

I have an ovarian cyst on my left side. I just started bleeding, period isent due for two weeks? What is this?

I have an ovarian cyst on my left side. I just started bleeding, period isent due for two weeks? What is this?

2 Things: It's possible, though unlikely, that the ovarian cyst caused your bleeding. Most cysts aren't hormonally 'active' as it were and wouldn't affect the uterus' cycling. More likely is that you are having breakthrough bleeding, due to changes in your ovaries' production of estrogen and progesterone. See a doctor if the breakthrough bleeding continues.

I was told I have a left ovarian cyst and my last period was February 9th is the cyst causing it to be so late?

I was told I have a left ovarian cyst and my last period was February 9th is the cyst causing it to be so late?

Could be.: At your age, ovarian cysts are common. But if you have late period all the time, you need to be evaluated. You may need hormones to regulate your period. Whether to remove the cyst surgically, depends on the size and symptoms it may be causing, torsion causes pain, nausea etc. If you have multiple small size cysts and you have irregular periods, you need work up for PCOS.
