There's blood in my urine. My CT scan just showed a "possible ruptured ovarian cyst." but now, I haven't had to go number 2 in days. Is this related?
Possibly: Sometimes blood in the urine can actually be coming from the rectum. If the doctor does a urinalysis and says there's blood in urine, then you can believe it. Blood from rectum due to constipation is way more common than blood in urine. Your ovarian cyst isn't related to possible blood in urine or rectum. I would take MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to help have bowel movement, and increase your hydration. ...Read more

Gyn exam needed: A 9cm blood filled ovarian cyst is not likely to "cause or make hemorrhoids and pelvic prolapse worse." Can an ovarian cyst or tumor cause you to have dark tarry blood in stools with abdominal distention and gas with pain?
Not usually.: The only way that this scenario could happen is if the tumor or ovarian cyst was connected to the digestive tract via an abnormal fistula. This would be a highly unlikely event, and if you do have black tarry stools, I would instead suspect a problem in the upper digestive tract rather than in the ovaries. If this is occurring, go to your local emergency room immediately. Good luck. ...Read more
