Can Oral Herpes Be Spread Without An Outbreak
I may have oral herpes. I thought it'd let the primary outbreak occur without medication too see how I it alone. Is it stupid? whats worst can happen?
Not "stupid", but...: It depends. If you have 1 sore or small cluster of them on one side of one lip, it's probably a recurrent outbreak of an older one that previously caused no symptoms. If so, feel free to see how it goes without treatment. Otherwise kiss on! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

A Short Short Answer: A simple question with a potentially VERY complex answer. The short short short answer is Yes...possibly. My boyfriend has oral herpes, if he has an outbreak (cold sores) can I still have anal sex with him unprotected?
Skin to skin: Herpes is transmitted by skin to skin contact. If he has an outbreak on his mouth then he can transmit herpes to any area his mouth touches. A herpes outbreak on the mouth would not be transmitted via genital to anus contact. Unprotected anal intercourse is a high risk sexual act and condoms should be used. ...Read more
