Can Opiate Type Drugs Cause Stomach Pain
I have stomach pain caused by a few time use of nsai drug. Even though I stopped taking the med 4-5 days ago, I still have pain. Any suggestions?
Was taking nexium for 5 weeks for silent gerd. Since stopping, I've had very bad stomach pain immediately after eating citric foods like cooked tomatoes. Feels like s burning type feeling right away then stops. Never had this before nexium. Cause?
Acidity: It is likely that you experienced acid rebound after discontinuing the nexium which had shut off your stomachs acid production. Anything can conceivably cause anything. However, pain not usual. Can cause upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, diarrhea, muscle cramps (if in gut could cause pain), heart rhythm disturbance, headache, allergic reactions.
Drug is a diuretic (makes you pee), can raise blood levels of potassium, get you dehydrated.

Gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer dieases, gastritis, severe reflux can cause your symptoms. Viral gastroenteritis (stomach-bug), irritable bowel can do same as well. If it is severe and rapid onset, it could be pancreatitis/gallbladder disease. If it is better better, then it is a good thing...If getting worse, consult/call doc for instructions...
