Can One Drink Alcohol While Taking Hydroxyurea
Alcohol is available in many beverages, from beer and wine to the more potent distilled spirits, such as gin, rye, and whiskey. There appear to be at least small health benefits of small amounts of alcohol use (fewer than five drinks per week), especially of red wine Excessive alcohol use can lead to addiction and severe social and physical complications. Excess long term alcohol use is the most common cause of cirrhosis of the ...Read more
Caution: Cimetidine can impair your body's ability to break down alcohol, which means that you could get drunk on smaller amounts of alcohol than you normally would. Also, alcohol often worsens diseases for which you may be taking Cimetidine in the first place. I would avoid alcohol, but if the alcohol is important to you, you may want to be on a different stomach medicine. Good luck. ...Read more
If a person does drink alcohol while taking keflex, do they have to restart the entire keflex regimen or can they just take one extra day of the antib?
Neither: Alcohol is toxic to living tissues (we humans happen to be a complex glob of living tissues), so avoid drinking too much. Also, an infected person doesn't need any additional, voluntary toxins in the body. However, alcohol does not have a direct relationship to how many Keflex capsules one needs to take. That would just depend on how well the infection is clearing up, and on the doctor's orders. ...Read more
Better if you don't: Mixing alcohol with any med can cause unpredictable side effects due to the fact that alcohol has various metabolites that can interact with other drugs which also have various metabolites. Should you drink alcohol, if going to have one or two cups, after or before taking beta blocker medication metropolol 25 mg. ?
Not a good idea: Its never a good idea to mix medication with alcohol. Although there is not a direct reaction between alcohol and a beta blocker the efffect of alcohol on blood pressure and pulse rate may make immediate use of either after the other a bad idea.To be safe I would take the beta blocker either in the morning or just before bed so that alcohol can be taken at the "usual" cocktail hour time! I've been taking azithromycine each second day, one pill. Tomorrow I will take 250 mg pill at 2 pm and have a party at 7 pm - can I drink alcohol?
To good health: If you are taking antibiotics for an infection -in your case azithromycin, you should really focus on getting well. Especially since you are still early in the treatment. This means, staying up late, drinking alcohol etc are not recommended. Is this going to harm you? Probably not if it is only one drink but you should give your body a break since alcohol is a toxin, technically speaking. ...Read more

I started taking Zyrtec (cetirizine) for 3 days, scratching issues, I have an event where I want to drink if I don't take the pill for one day may I drink alcohol?
Drink HOW much ETOH?: I always assume when someone asks a question like this that they are not talking about one or two social drinks. There is really no significant interaction between alcohol and antihistamines like zyrtec, (cetirizine) although both may be sedating. However, alcohol itself can result in itching, and may be part of the problem. If you are talking larger amounts of alcohol, that is in itself a problem. ...Read more

Took one 5mg Lexapro (escitalopram) on Monday night and then decided not to take again. Is it safe to drink alcohol tonight approx 96 hours later? No other meds.
Don't stop like that: It strikes me that drinking is less of a concern related to your medicine than it is regarding your anxiety. Alcohol can be tricky to predict if you are not feeling well emotionally, so I would consider that. Since you were only taking your Lexapro (escitalopram) for one day, you probably did not have a bad reaction. But for the future, stopping antidepressants suddenly can make you feel terrible. Gastritis: This sounds like gastritis, a general term for stomach irritation. Gastritis may occur without a more definitive diagnosis, or may represent underlying issues e.g. Ulcers, which can be dangerous.
