You might be : Hungry! Please make sure you eat an adequate amount each day. A good example of a standard routine would be three small meals per day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with small 150-200 kcal snacks around 10:00 am and 3:00pm. Try that, see if it works.

NDPH: New daily persistent headache is the most refractory headache to treat. New daily persistent headache affects women more than men. The symptoms may have migraine features (nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity). The prognosis: headaches are mostly self-limiting resolving without treatment within several months or resistant to treatment. See a headache specialist for evaluation and management.

Migraine?: Sided-headaches with eye-findings sounds like may be migraine origin. Good if nsaids relieve symptoms. Should discuss with your dr or a neurologist for diagnosis confirmation (can't be positive in 400 characters!), and possible suppressive / preventive medication, depending on how frequently they occur.

I've had a headache for 4 days. I've taken nsaid's several times with no relief. Should i go to the dr?

You should: Since pathological processes in the head and neck can provoke a secondary headache as well as activate a primary headache disorder, the first step in diagnosis is to exclude an organic cause for the headache. This includes laboratory tests, neuroimaging and neurodiagnostic tests. Rec.: see orofacial pain or headache specialist for further investigation.

The pain relievers (nsaids) not working for headaches/migraines, what to do?

The pain relievers (nsaids) not working for headaches/migraines, what to do?

Migraine Meds: While the nsaids work well it is often useful to have more than one choice so you do not develop rebound headaches from over utilization of one agent. Other abortive agents include the triptans (imitrex, maxalt (rizatriptan)...). Another consideration is whether the headaches are too frequent and might require prophylaxis. Please keep track of your headaches and see your doctor for further advice. Take care.

What could continuous pain at the top of the head be? The pain feels hot, like nerve pain, not a headache. NSAIDs relieves the pain but it returns.

AVM: Fixed pain in 1 location in the head is a red flag for a vascular malformation such as an AVM or aneurysm. Brain MRI with MRA would be the test of choice to evaluate. Could also be a variant of trigeminal neuralgia, but that also requires imaging to evaluate for an aneurysm, so the work-up would be the same.

Better get seen: One sided headache can be due to sinuses, eyes, teeth, nose, ears or none of those, but we need to check them out, keep taking the pain killers in recommended doses till you see your doctor, best wishes

Is there anything stronger than Acetaminophen for headaches that doesn't irritate intestines? I have intestinal issues that flare up if I take NSAIDs

How much?: How much Tylenol (acetaminophen) have you taken. A healthy person without liver disease can take up to 4000mg per 24 hours (two 500mg Tylenol (acetaminophen) every 6 hours. If that's not cutting your headaches see your doctor, there are other pain medication options. You may need an opiate pain medication. If you have migraine type headaches there are alternate, non-addictive very effective medications, like imitrex.

I think I have a hiatus hernia. I HS e bad headache and need painkillers, is it ok to take an nsaid?

Probably: The fact that you have a hiatal hernia shouldn't prevent you from taking nsaids. If you have ulcers caused by the hiatal hernia, you shouldn't . May need an endoscopy to find out. Ask your doctor.
