It is not likely..: Fatty liver by itself typically does not cause pain. Acute hepatitis--either from infection/alcohol/or drugs can cause pain, but you will have other symptoms as well. From knowing a bit of your history (you have lost 52lbs in 6 months and liver is only "borderline fatty"), i sincerely doubt the liver is the cause of your pain. Shouldn't . . .: Coffee shouldn't affect your liver (unless you're mixing it w/irish whiskey or some other alcohol). If you're mixing a lot of cream into your coffee, the fat in the cream may be aggravating your gallbladder. Best way to figure out what's causing "liver pain" is to stop the coffee for a while & see how you feel. Then start it again & see if it comes back. Perhaps you have gastritis?
