You probably want no more than 2500 iu of preformed vitamin a/day. It is fat soluble and the excess is stored in your liver. Cod liver oil also contains high amounts of dha and epa -- long chain omega-2 fats. ...Read more

Krill oil and cod liver oil are both excellent sources of essential Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. The main thing krill oil has that cod liver oil does not is Astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant with many proven benefits (see http://products. Mercola. Com/astaxanthin/).
But krill oil costs much more so you could take cod liver oil and supplement with astaxanthin.

Both krill and cod liver oil are excellent sources of essential fatty acids EPA and DHA. Cod Liver Oil also contains Vitamins A and D. Krill oil may be more readily absorbed and is an excellent source of astaxanthin.
It is safe to take these together. One would have to take very large amounts for either or both to be hazardous.

Can you tell me are cod and haddock very healthy or is it only cod liver oil supplements that is healthy?
Cod and Haddock: Cod, because it is more of a cold water fish would be higher in omega 3 than haddock so in theory should be healthier. However, haddock would be a healthier alternative to red meat so I don't think you could go wrong with either. Try both and eat the one you like best the most. Choose the second place winner over red meat. ...Read more

Cod liver oil would be an unusual allergy, so if persists see allergist. ...Read more

Ask hematologist: Cod liver oil is a good source of omega fatty acid. However, for a baby who is either breastfed or formula fed, it is usually unnecessary because both would already have omega fatty acid. If your infant has beta thalassemia, ask your hematologist if there's any need to supplement. You may not need to esp if he's growing and thriving well. ...Read more
