Relatively common: In advanced stages of dementia. She may have developed delirium with paranoid features. Would suggest letting her physician or the nursing home staff now as she may become agitated and needing to be medicated. You : You should give your child's doctor a call and ask for a referral to a child psychologist, psychiatrist or behavioral specialist. You are not alone in dealing with your son's behavior (i have had many parents come to me with similar situations and concerns to yours). A behavioral specialist can help find better ways for your son to express his feelings and for your family to cope with his outbursts. They may be able to suggest new ways of dealing with his behavior. There will probably not be any quick fixes, but with continual therapy and consistent parenting, he will improve over time. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How to get child into private school without public school help, using my rights as parent because l believe my child has medica Issues, misdiagnosed?
Odd idea: You get into a private school by paying for the service, not making demands of the public system. Private schools are also not required to make any accommodations for kids with special needs, be they learning or medical.Public schools are required to make these accommodations. You need to meet with a representative of your local special services department and explore your available options. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My 2yr old is in a small family daycare we love,. His language &social skills are advanced. Does he need preschool or can we wait until pre-k?
Need? No...: It sounds like your son is in a loving environment. Children his age (and older) learn through play and connection. He doesn't "need" preschool. Read to him, talk to him, explain things to him, and most of all have fun! I bet he is already getting those things at the family daycare. My vote - if you are happy where he is there is no need to change. ...Read moreSee 5 more doctor answers

U can tell them: But will they listen? Times have changed. The world is smaller than it used to be. Hello. : Hello. I think that the best way to know is to ask her about it. If her trauma from her abuse when she was young has caused issues or fears about intimacy that could make her reticent to connect with a man. Sometimes children who are home-schooled may lag in social skills compared with children who have have had more access to others. It may however, just be that dating is not a top priority for her right now. I don't believe that there is anything wrong by not dating by age 20; but with that said, if there are specific issues which are holding her back, it might be helpful for her to address them. Take care. ...Read more

See a therapist: Abuse issues and trauma from our childhood can be treated and the cycle of abuse can be stopped. Simple is best: The 10yo's past experience with pets or bugs gives them a basic understanding of the physical reality of death. Since their thinking processes won't begin to embrace advanced thinking until well into the teens, you need to stay with simple.
