Add a daily calcium supplement (taken with food) daily if you need the extra calcium. Lactaid is one : Brand name, but there are others. 16-21 oz./ day of milk & milk products is recommended. At that amount, constipation usually isn't a problem. A word about sippy cups-they keep the tongue forward in an immature suckling position. Not likely: If the only thing that's changed is the addition of lactaid milk it's a possibilty. It depends on what else baby is eating and was eating before the switch. Breast fed babies usually have soft, frequent stools, so if you just switched from breast, i'd expect stools to be firmer. Make sure she's getting 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day and the constipation should resolve. ...Read more

Pricey solution : Soy based milk like products are lactose free & much less expensive.. A 16 mo cam also get all the calcium they need from a couple of tum's /day & just drink water. The other stuff in milk can be made up by a diverse diet. ...Read more
