It could be from : Menstrual blood or infection . The latter would show additional positive results on leucocytes/ white blood cells and nitrates on urine test. A repeat urine test is warranted for reassurance. Take care! ...Read more

This can be: challenging. The fact that you notice this most often after urination means that you must be most suspicious that there is some type of bloody discharge coming from the urethra/urinary tract. This could be simple inflammation of the urethra--urethritis--or an indicator of infection or other problem in the bladder or kidneys. It needs evaluation and testing. Microhematuria: If you exercise heavily, you will secrete myoglobin in your urine and as a UA can not distinguish between hemoglobin (from blood) and myoglobin (from muscle), UA will be positive for blood but no RBC seen.
