Weight loss: unexplained weight loss should always be investigated, and never ignored. If this is happening to you, you should see your doctor for further evaluation. Have you had a colonoscopy in the last five years? Even with a factor V deficiency, everyone should have colon screening at age 50. See your doctor to look into this. Do not delay. Good luck.

Is it normal to have trouble losing weight when going through menopause due to imbalanced hormones?

Is it normal to have trouble losing weight when going through menopause due to imbalanced hormones?

Yes: The current data from whi suggests that you do not take supplemental estrogen-progestin at the time of menopause. The difficulty with weight loss is more likely due to an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure and Insulin resistance. Do not try to balance hormones in this circumstance. Cjglueck md.

Hw do u lose weight through menopause?

Hw do u lose weight through menopause?

Unclear question: Women usually gain weight around menopause and with increasing age it gets harder to lose weight. However, losing weight requires increase in physical activity and reduction in caloric intake.
If you had unintended weight loss at menopause, see a doctor for evaluation.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

How can I lose weight during menopause?

How can I lose weight during menopause?

Diet and exercise: The answer is the same regardless of time in life: what you eat and what you do. But your body has changed after menopause, and with age, metabolism slows. So even eating fewer calories does not lead to as much weight losses when younger. Exercise is critical to increasing metabolism, but you have to respect the inevitable loss of flexibility and muscle mass. Start low, go slow, do cardio too!

What is the best way to lose weight during menopause?

What is the best way to lose weight during menopause?

Paleo lifestyle: My favorite nutrition guidelines are from the paleo lifestyle. Paleo diets are based on a meat and vegetable diet. No grains and no sugars. This is not extreme. This is not a "diet" for a quick fix to weight loss. This helps your overall metabolism and will help with weight loss. I think this diet also provides improvements / protection for heart disease, diabetes and other chronic disease.

How can you lose weight when you are on estrogen and are in menopause?

Low carbs, exercise: Wt gain is generally not related to menopause and estrogen therapy. It is a function of, among other things, a slowing of the metabolism as the years go by. Minimizing simple carbs. And daily cardio/wt. Training will be very successful.

How to lose weight during menopause when you have hypothyroidism?

How to lose weight during menopause when you have hypothyroidism?

Balance hormones: There is a balance between the hormones from your thyroid (free T4 and t3), adrenal gland (cortisol) and your sex hormones (estrogen: e1, e2, e3, progesterone, testosterone). I would check all of your hormone levels and replace those which are low with bio-identical hormones. You will be able to loose weight easier when you are in balance.

How to increase your metabolism to lose weight if you started gaining a lot of weight after menopause?

Exercise: There are no pills, hormones, or supplements that can increase your metabolism, unless you have a medical problem (such as hypothyroidism). The only real way to increase your metabolism is by doing regular aerobic exercise. I recommend walking the equivalent of 15 miles weekly or bicycling 45 miles weekly (the speed doesn't matter)

What are best ways to lose weight, particularly from thighs and hips, when approaching menopause? I understand that it a difficult time to lose weight

What are best ways to lose weight, particularly from thighs and hips, when approaching menopause? I understand that it a difficult time to lose weight

Katz book: Disease proof by david katz, md is a good book for overall health. It contains lots of useful information about the way we eat and is written very clearly. Focus more on health and lab results than the number on the scale. Walking can be a great benefit also. You can do it. Please see your doc first. Spot reducing doesn't work. Some fine low carb effective.

What is the best way to lose weight during menopause and after it?

What is the best way to lose weight during menopause and after it?

Calorie count: Menopause or not, your weight is determined by your calorie intake versus your calorie expenditure. 100 calories intake per day more than you expend = 1 pound per month weight gain. Likewise 100 calories less per day = 1 pound per month weight loss. That is 12 pounds per year, 24 pounds in 2 years, 36 pounds in 3 years, etc. So eat less, exercise more and if it tastes good, spit it out.

Please suggest what foods can help you lose weight during menopause?

LO CARBS/HI PROTEIN: Many women also have low thyroid when they become menopausal, so their metabolism is slow and they do not burn their calories efficiently and can't lose weight despite proper diet and excercise. Pay attention to other symptoms of an underactive thyroid, because blood tests are not always diagnostic for this condition.
