It could be: In addition to your medical workup you might want to try supplementing with some arginine hydrochloride. Check with your doctor if this is ok. You can start with 500mg at night, try to increase to am and pm. You can increase to at least 2000mg twice a day. Something else: Sounds like u have edema in u'r feet. Not uncommon at all, especially if u are on u'r feet a lot. The main reason is gravity pulls things down, and as we get older out veins and Lymph vessels transmit the fluid/blood slower. I suggest trying compression socks, and seeing u'r doctor so he/she can do a physical exam. ...Read more

Do I need to see a specialist for the pain on the ball of my feet? It has gotten worse even after changing shoes, insoles, etc. It is starting to affect what I do if it envolves walking.

One: One of the more common causes of pain in the ball of the foot is a neuroma, a benign thickening of a nerve that runs in between the metatarsal bones near the bottom of the foot. There are numerous other causes, but it's impossible for me to diagnose you electronically!

You did not mention your weight, which could be a major factor in causing pain in the feet, especially if you are standing hours on a hard surface.
