Wouldn't brain inflamm. Show on brainmri? My MRI normal. I get frequent debilitating lightheadedness&headaches. Prednisone 10mg/day resolves it. Have lupus. Neg neuro exam

Not necessarily.: Headaches are generally not a component of lupus unless they are secondary to high blood pressure. A normal MRI makes brain involvement in lupus less likely but does not completely rule it out. Evaluation of the spinal fluid is a better test if your rheumatologist thinks it is necessary. ...Read more

See your rheumatolog: There are several sle related possibilities and numerous other causes for your sob. I would normally recommend a high resolution ct of the chest to look for interstitial lung disease and an echocardiogram to look for pulmonary artery hypertension. If you have leg swelling or anticardiolipin antibodies you should also be checked for a blood clot. If these are negative there are next steps. ...Read more

Is low bp and lightheaded spells a common thing in people with lupus? I never had this issue before I had lupus?

Monitor.: You need to be monitored to determine if the lightheadedness is related to tachycardia. If it is there is a new medicine that is available for inappropriate sinus tachycardia. It would not be: Uncommon to have symptoms of light-headedness, dizziness and perhaps fatigue with systolic blood pressures in the 90's though many people tolerate this blood pressure satisfactorily. First, try to increase your fluid volume by drinking liquids, especially those with electrolytes including Gatorade. POTS and sodium: Excreting less than 124 mmol per 24 hours of sodium in the urine predicts if you will respond favorably to salt supplementation. One also is advised to increase fluid intake to prevent the BP from dropping and the heart rate from rising (typically above 120 b/m) upon standing.
