BJP: Bence Jones proteins, light chain, occur in multiple myeloma , lymphomas/chronic leukemias, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance which can go on to myeloma at the rate of only 1%/yr -small risk),amylodosis,cryoglobunemia, Autoimmune disease can give false positive. Many issues: CRP is measured in mg/dL and hsCRP is measured in mg/L. if the later is converted to CRP, the two values would be 0.4 and 0.8 and that is not that great a difference. K/L ratio of 1.5 is normal. The autoimmune disorders you mentioned may have an oligoclonal pattern and could result in monoclonal lambda chain in urine, without there being any cancer. About 10% of people your age have a benign monoclonal gammopathy. ...Read more

Have lupus.Have had persistent moderate blood in urine (no RBC) for yrs with no known cause. Now have microscopic hematuria (+2-5), with trace protein?

Ana+ spec 1:640 elevated sed. Cbc ok. Metabolic ok. Urine ok. Up back pain and rt flank burning/pain present one year. Throastic MRI ok. Lupus neg.

ANA and pain: Not sure if the 2 are related, but surely merit investigation. I would look into liver function tests, autoimmune antibodies to bile ducts and liver imaging if other work up is negative. ...Read more
