What does the pituitary gland affect and can it cause bleeding nipples seizures and cause low thyroid?

A whole lot: The pituitary gland secrets many different hormones that affect the adrenal glands, thyroid gland, ovaries/testes, milk production in the breast, growth, and thirst. It shouldn't cause bloody breast discharge. However, it can cause milky or clear breast/nipple discharge, hypothyroidism and seizures. You should see your doctor immediately if you having these symptoms.

Do seizures show up on test if do to low thyroid please answer asap?

EEG: Whatever the cause of seizures, the primary test used to measure them is eeg. An eeg consists of attaching leads to various areas of your head to measure electrical activity in the brain. Seizures and epilepsy are then characterized based on the types of spikes observed, where the spikes happen, and the presenting symptoms. Doctors may do video eeg in some cases, too.

I have hashimoto thyroidism, pituitary tumor, seizures, lesion on my brain and had multiple concussions. My calves are hurting bad what could this be?

I have hashimoto thyroidism, pituitary tumor, seizures, lesion on my brain and had multiple concussions. My calves are hurting bad what could this be?

Wow- a lot!: This can either be as simple as muscular if you have had any changes in excercise or even trauma (fall, seizure). Or it can be neurological, neuropathic pain due to your comorbidities or even the brain lesion. Or vascular such as a DVT or blood clot in your veins. I would recommend that you get evaluated at your earliest convenience.

Can someone tell me exactly wht the thyroid does and how it works and wht the symptoms 2 it being very low are including seizures drinking lot of h2o?

Thyroid gland: Makes thyroid hormone which helps regulate metabolism. Patients with low thyroid hormones tend to feel cold, gain weight, are tired, may be constipated, hoarse or weak. However, the presence of seizures and drinking a lot of water raises the possibility of a problem in or around the pituitary gland at the base of the skull. Bloodwork measuring TSH as well as thyroid hormone could help. See M.D.

Can repeated injury to neck face back during grand mal seizures cause spinal stenosis?

Spinal stenosis: Spinal stenosis is narrowing of the spinal canal and can occur because of any structure encroaching upon that space. It can be congenital or something that you are born with. It is commonly caused by disc bulging or herniation, facet joint hypertrophy (overgrowth) from arthritis, or ligament buckling. Trauma as you described could lead to a bulging disc or arthritis with time.

Presciprtion for thyroid symptoms but got wrong one from the pharmacy for seizures. For 3 weeks now. Will the pills do any harm?

Unlikely: Do not know what pharmacy provided, but you need to deal with druggist as this should never happen. Hopefully, you have not experienced thyroid issues, and any toxicity to bone marrow or liver. Most likely, this will not cause permanent problems. Find another pharmacy.

What could cause low thyroid counts?

Hypothyroid: Usually due to an autoimmune disorder called hashimotos disease. Runs in families -- women 7 times more likely than men. Inflammation of the thyroid gland can cause decreased function. One can test for both function and inflammation with lab tests. See a board-certified endocrinologist for expert advice.

Can low thyroid cause high cholesterol?

Can low thyroid cause high cholesterol?

Endocrine effects: Thyroid hormone helps us with metabolism. If your thyroid hormone is low, your body is unable to manage the lipids appropriately and this leads to high cholesterol of the 'bad types' (triglycerides, low density lipids and very low density lipids) and lowering the good cholesterol (high density lipid). Our bodies need to be firing on all cylinders!

Can a low thyroid function affect the heart and cause serious problems?

Can a low thyroid function affect the heart and cause serious problems?

Possible: It is uncommon in young pts for hypothyroidism to cause heart probs, but it def can cause cardiac issues. It cause a slow heart beat, which usually resolves with treatment. If left untreated hypothyroidism can lead to a cardiomyopathy (gen heart dysfunction). This is often reversible, but left untreated can lead to permanent cardiac damage and irreg heart beats. If tx'd there should no problems!

Can low thyroid cause me to feel hungry all the time? I have to eat every 3 hours! Help! What can I do to help me not to feel hungry all the time?

Not thyroid: The symptoms you describe are most likely due to Insulin resistance. Especially if you are overweight, the fat tissue in your body causes your Insulin to not work properly and leads to pre-diabetes. When this happens, your blood sugar often bottoms out 2-3 hours after meals and you get hungry. Adipose (fat) in your body secretes hormones that increase your appetite. Wt. Loss and exercise help.
